Something has survived… from Mattel’s Jurassic World factory floor! The toy version of Franklin Webb, Fallen Kingdom’s designated “IT guy”, was first revealed back in 2019 and hasn’t been seen since. Jurassic collectors rightly assumed the worst, and in time it became clear the toy’s release was cancelled for reasons unknown. Fast forward to 2021, and it appears a production sample of Franklin’s action figure has made it out into the wild—and into our hands here on Collect Jurassic! Watch the full video above for our exclusive review of this rarest of Mattel Jurassic World collectibles, presented in ultra-HD 4K resolution.

i wish mattel would make more humans franklin is a great mold and i think that this toy would have been a hit amogst collecter and also a toy i would love to see is lock wood manor set that would be awsome
I wonder how Justice Smith would’ve felt when he discovers that the figure of his character was cancelled.
I’m normally not an advocate of keeping toys inside the packaging (I collect things to enjoy them, not to invest my money in hopes of making a profit)… but yeah, keep this one sealed!
This whole saga really shows that Mattel does not always live up to fan expectations. I love the JW toyline, they’ve done a great job overall with way more hits than misses and it’s what got me back into the Jurassic franchise. I eagerly buy every new species and most of the retools and repaints. But we’ve had people clamoring DESPERATELY for YEARS for non-dinosaur additions to the line and they had one ready to go and changed their minds at the last possible moment even though nothing was wrong with the toy. It’s not a good look. Dunno how much overlap there is where people here would know what I’m talking about, but it reminds me of what happened to Megaman Legends 3, just on a much smaller scale. Capcom announced a new video game people had been begging them to do for years, then gave up on it halfway through development. The fans were enraged and betrayed, but there was nothing they could do to change anything – Capcom simply ignored all the outcry until the fans gave up. This was in 2011, and MML3 was never made.
Frankly, it’s also a waste of a perfectly good mold. I still think there’s a chance of Franklin finally popping up as part of the Dominion line, if they bring back human figures for the new movie. This specific version of it is not coming back, though, especially since it’s in Dino Rivals packaging.
Also, his mini dino should have been Baryonyx. I mean c’mon.
